Monthly Question & Answer

Q: Are homeowners eligible for Unemployment Mortgage Assistance benefits for more than one unemployment incident?

A: Homeowners may be eligible for Unemployment Mortgage Assistance benefits more than once provided they meet program eligibility criteria and have not exceeded the 18 month, $54,000 maximum program assistance or the $100,000 overall program cap that is available per household. In order to be determined eligible for subsequent Unemployment Mortgage Assistance benefits the homeowner must have a remaining balance in their Unemployment Mortgage Assistance program reserves that is equal to or greater than three full first mortgage payments. We encourage homeowners who previously received Unemployment Mortgage Assistance benefits to contact Keep Your Home California to see if they are eligible for additional benefit consideration.See more frequently asked questions
