Teach Children to Save

April 11, 2014

Westlake Charter School, Sacramento

Alana Golden, Public Information Officer, California Department of Business Oversight, visited 4 – 2nd grade classrooms and 4- 3rd grade classrooms. The students learned about earning, saving, spending and sharing money.  The students listened to a story about Sammy the rabbit’s first and favorite great habit – to save money and became authors and illustrators by making a poster about the importance of saving money.

Teach Children to Save

Teach Children to Save (TCTS) is a national program that organizes banker volunteers to help young people develop a savings habit early in life. Since the program started in 1997, some 130,500 bankers have taught savings skills to 6 millions students. Participate on Teach Children to Save Day, April 11, or anytime throughout the year as part of this industry-wide initiative to educate young people about the importance of saving.
