4 Easy Ways to Participate In America Saves Week 

America Saves Week is just two weeks away! But there are still some easy things you can do to participate:

  1. Sign up to participate – If you haven’t already, please sign up so we can list you as a participating organization.

  2. Spread the word – We’ve created a number of articles you can use to spread the word through newsletters, emails, and blogs.
     
  3. Post to Twitter and FacebookClick here to download social media content you can share on Facebook and Twitter to promote America Saves Week and the importance of saving.
     
  4. Encourage others to take the America Saves Pledge – Encourage others to take the America Saves Pledge where they can make a commitment to themselves to save for an identified goal. (Download the paper pledge form) ( Learn how you can embed the pledge form on your website)

Highlighted America Saves Week Activities

  • South LA Saves – Is hosting a, “Start Small. Think Big” Wealth Conference on March 1, 2014. This free community event will provide individuals with information on how to build their wealth and live their dreams from a number of qualified experts.
  • Fidelity– Is hosting a series of workshops designed to take you on the path from getting started with saving, to staying on track and keeping track of your goals. In addition, as a part of The Week Fidelity is launching the, “1% Savings Challenge. ” By accepting the challenge, employees agree to defer an additional 1% in their retirement plan to break down big, intimidating numbers into something more manageable. 
  • WestBanco Inc. of Greater Cincinnati – Created and are promoting a new free savings account.
  • Hancock County Saves – In collaboration with the University of Findlay, OSU Extension, and Hancock County 4-H, will host a modified Real Money. Real World (RMRW) simulation for the community geared toward demonstrating the importance of saving. 
  • Florida Saves – In collaboration with University of Florida and IFAS Extension, has scheduled two webinars during America Saves Week on quick and easy steps, “How to Save $500” and the unique issues of, ” Women & Money“.
  • Minnesota Saves – Will host an event to provide businesses and organizations with an introduction to the America Saves campaign, useful resources and tools to promote savings in the workplace and in the community, and information on financial scam prevention by the Better Business Bureau.
  • Prince George’s County Saves – Is hosting its launch event, February 19 at 10 A.M. PG County Saves is an initiative of the PG CASH Campaign. A number of community members will speak to the importance of saving, and the event will be followed by a “Pledge Rally” with the students of Prince George’s Community College.   • Proclamation – The state of West Virginia will be proclaiming February 24 through March 1 as, “West Virginia Saves Week.”
