The Golden 1 Credit Union embraces the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” with our continued involvement within our communities. To reaffirm our belief in the philosophy of “people helping people,” we provide a variety of financial workshops and webinars that are free and open to the public.

Golden 1 workshops and webinars are designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to help achieve their financial goals.

Golden 1’s Member Education team hosts more than 500 free community workshops and webinars annually. Since 2003, Golden 1 has successfully presented workshops to more than 20,000 attendees. Some workshop topics include: Know Your Rights; Identity Theft; Owning a Home; Auto Buying; Basic Banking; Loan Concepts and How to Avoid the Payday Lenders and Other Financial Predators. These workshops have provided attendees with priceless knowledge about managing their funds now and protecting their assets in the future.

Golden 1 places a great emphasis on providing today’s youth with the knowledge of how to become responsible savers. The credit union has designed several workshops and webinars to help teenagers develop the financial skills needed to excel in adult life. Many of these workshops and webinars address topics that are of interest to teenagers: Buying a Car, Careers, and Planning for College, for example.

In the past year, our Member Education team has delivered more than 200 presentations to teenagers about the importance of learning financial responsibility. Through these presentations, we reached more than 4,000 teens.

Workshops and webinars are free from any obligations—so you can enjoy learning in a relaxed atmosphere from experienced and knowledgeable representatives.
