It’s Crime Prevention Month
The GoDirect Campaign provided the following information on how we can participate. It’s easy and the GoDirect Campaign provides the resources and tools.
October is Crime Prevention Month, the prime time of year to demonstrate your commitment to the financial safety of the people you serve. Throughout the month, urge senior citizens, people with disabilities and other federal benefit check recipients to protect their money now by switching from paper checks to electronic payments – rather than waiting for the official March 1, 2013, deadline.
It’s easy. Simply add information from the Go Direct® Crime Prevention tool kit to your newsletters, websites, presentations and other communication channels. Campaign materials promote the safety and reliability of electronic payments and explain how people can make the switch to direct deposit or the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card. Materials available for both community-based organizations and financial institutions include:
- Newsletter copy and news briefs – Publish in communications to beneficiaries or staff
- Social media tips – Post on social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook
- Fliers and posters – Display in facilities or hand out at events
- Educational Video – Embed on websites, share through social media or include in presentation
