The importance of financial literacy and financial education efforts were highlighted at the annual California Financial Literacy Month Resource Fair at the State Capitol on Tuesday, April 26. Booths and representatives from State agencies, non-profit organizations and financial institutions provided free materials and information on money management, saving and investing, planning for retirement, buying a home, using credit and managing debt, and avoiding financial scams and fraud.
This year’s event featured the Community College Foundation eBus mobile computer lab.
Safely navigating today’s rapidly-changing, often complex financial system can be a daunting task. By empowering consumers to make informed decisions about how to spend and invest their money, financial literacy helps ensure more California families prosper.
