FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship Program
Created in 2006, the FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship Program gives military spouses the opportunity to obtain a career-enhancing credential—the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) certificate—all while providing financial counseling and education to other members of the military community.
The fellowship is managed through a partnership with the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®), which administers the curriculum and manages the application process, and the National Military Family Association, which handles program marketing and coordinates volunteer reviewers.
The FINRA Foundation covers the costs of the AFC® training and testing. We are proud to have awarded the Fellowship to more than 1,250 military spouses since the program’s inception. FINRA Foundation Fellows have logged hundreds of thousands of hours of service to the military community.
What are the program’s benefits?
The Fellowship provides military spouses with:
- a credential that can help jumpstart a career in financial counseling;
- portable job skills that can be transferred no matter where the next PCS takes you;
- the ability to give back to the military community by promoting financial readiness at installations around the world; and
- access to a vast network of Military Spouse Fellows.
